BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
The Business Development Consultant (BDC) will assist MNCapital Africa Advisors (MNCAA) in identifying and securing clients for MNCAA’s services (Services).
The Services presently entail assisting companies in raising short term financing, trade finance and long term capital (both equity and debt). The BDC will also have the opportunity to market other Services as the come online; for example, we will be entering into distribution arrangements with companies looking to sell their products in Africa.
- Short Term Financing transactions relate to invoice factoring and purchase order financing. The minimum deal size for short term financing transactions is $50K in South Africa and $1 million in Rest of Africa. These transactions can usually be completed within 1 month in the case of South Africa, but take longer in the Rest of Africa.
- Trade Finance programs include letters of credit and trade finance facilities. The minimum deal size for trade finances transactions is $100K. These transactions can usually be completed within two weeks to a month.
- Long Term Capital is for either (i) established profitable companies with at least two years audited financials or (ii) strong projects with an experienced management team and a committed off-take agreement, e.g., power projects with a PPA. Other than the before mentioned projects, we do NOT commit resources to start-ups.
- In addition to MNCAA’s current services listed above, in the coming months, we will be entering into distribution arrangements with companies looking to sell their products in Africa. BDCs will be able to help distribute these products and thus potentially earn long-term residual income.
If the BDC simply introduces a transaction, the BDC will receive a percentage of MNCAA’s fees from any transaction introduced by the BDC.
Note that MNCAA charges the client a commitment fee and a success fee for each transaction it works on.
After joining the program, we will provide training materials that enable BDCs to learn more about our products and services as well as thrive in their role as BDC, if the BDC invests the time in studying the materials.

For those that are interested in a career in investment banking, the BDC role is intended to identify individuals with the potential to become Associate Partners, which includes greater profit sharing, and eventually full partners in the firm.
